Food

Welcome to the food Group
Sourcing our food locally and seasonally can make a big difference to
our local food economy. Farming in the future will need to maximise
food production in a sustainable way, which will mean using less fossil
fuels, and creating less waste. Low input methods, which may involve
more people in mixed enterprises, may be the most sustainable way to go,
as reports by the U.N and Defra have said recently
We are supporting local skills and producers, by encouraging growing
and cooking and healthy eating. We will be having monthly market stalls
in the summer, and hope to arrange a summer and an autumn food event.
These are still at the planning stage and we welcome new people who
would enjoy getting involved.
